Can you do what this 13-year-old did?
I often talk about the importance of setting goals (check out my post on March 17, 2006 for tips on how I set goals for myself).
I was amazed at this story! This 13-year-old girl set a goal of raising $3,000 for cystic fibrosis research, but after easily reaching that goal, she realized that she would have to set her sights a little higher.
I think this is a great example of the benefits of "aiming high." Remember that no matter how great it feels to reach a tough goal, we should always see if we can do even better.
I’m not saying not to give yourself credit for making your milestones reality. You absolutely should celebrate and pat yourself on the back for a task accomplished or an obstacle overcome! Just put some of that positive energy towards doing even more. There is no limit to how high you can climb – if you refuse to look down and worry about falling.
