Focus On Others to Overcome Negativity

Share

If you listen to the daily news reports that come at us on
the television, the radio, and the Internet, sometimes it seems that there’s
absolutely nothing good going on in the world.

I would give you some examples, but there’s no need – you
probably had some gloomy images pop up in your head just now without my help.

The negative situations around us are a frustrating and
discouraging part of daily life. Sometimes I feel like the things that I can
personally influence don’t matter in the big picture.

Ripples_overcome_negativity_imageIf you’re like me and sometimes feel this way, I want to
remind you – and remind myself! – that we all have the power to effect positive
change. And not just over ourselves and our own destinies. By taking actions
within each of our small circles of influence, we can make small ripples that
will travel further than we could possibly imagine.

If you find yourself feeling depressed or pessimistic, one
of the best things you can do is to look outside of yourself, and focus on how
you can help others around you.

It might be someone in your own family, or a neighbor on
your street. You could choose to volunteer a little of your time or knowledge
to a charity.

When you’re not feeling good about things in general,
getting involved and helping others will always improve your own mindset! It
sounds crazy, but it’s true. You’ll be giving away a very small part of your
personal wealth, but the returns to you will be enormous. You’ll be inspired to
do more with what you have, your self esteem will grow, and the amount of goodwill you’ve contributed will multiply and expand to influence far more
individuals that you think.

Warmly,

Russ

If you’d like to contribute to a charity, take a look at my post in April of
